What Else Can I Do?

The question "What Can I as an Individual Do to Combat Climate Change?" is perhaps the most frequently asked question of climate change! Writers suggesting answers to the question have recommended literally hundreds of action items. Many of these items show up in "Top 10 Personal Actions to Combat Climate Change" blogs you can find all over the place. Such lists are not particularly helpful, however, since many of the actions you’ll find listed wouldn't make much of a difference to climate change. That’s either because they focus on relatively inconsequential behaviors, or because they are unlikely to ever scale to a level that could measurably influence climate change.

The reality is, however, that there are many things you can do to combat climate change. Exploring these things is outside the scope of this micro-site, but we’ll point you to other Climate Web resources that will allow you to easily explore the question.

Another resource that you might also be interested in is our Microtargeting Climate Communications micro-site. It describes something that should exist but doesn’t, that would allow individuals to be far more effective in combating climate change.
